Some will, some won’t, SO WHAT.
Here’s a motto for you to live your life by and Margaret Thatcher said it best, “If you set out to be liked, you will accomplish NOTHING.”
And she’s right, because truthfully you can have the BEST intentions but there will always be people who do NOT approve of you. People who HATE you, people who want to see you fail, and people who will ultimately go out of their way to make sure you go down. Didn’t Grandma tell you birds only peck at the best fruit?
Haters gon’ hate, right? Bad news for them is the energy we send out is the energy we get back.
The flip side is that there will be people you meet along the way who will be your biggest fans. They’ll be the ones to give you the gift of growth. The ones who recommend you, give you an opportunity to step up in the workplace, refer you to a new contract, and publicly put themselves on the line to stand up for their belief in you.
They’ll be the ones who believe in you before you believe in yourself.
Those are the people I admire and the people who come to mind when I feel hurt that so-and-so said this, or that. It takes effort, but during those times I just try to remember the positives, do my very best with good intention, and let my results speak for themselves.
We are not responsible for other people’s unhappiness. We are responsible to craft our lives in a way that makes US feel good. Doing all things to the best of our ability, with excellence and integrity.
How much different could our lives be if we stop allowing other people’s toxic words and opinions affect our days?
I am here on this journey in an incredible life I am consciously creating. My desire is to empower and to inspire. To live a life filled with passion, purpose, and to leave a legacy. To challenge my goals and dreams, become a stronger and more resilient human being.
If you’re reading this, it’s safe to assume that your desires are quite similar. Maybe today we can start unapologetically being ourselves. We don’t have to apologize for our drive, our ambitions, or our presence.
May we live with bravery, courage, and commitment.
Love,
ღ CJ
